AVASPO KONZERTE IN WIEN UND ZAGREB
Anlässlich des 10-jährigen Jubiläums des MuseumsQuartiers Wien tritt die litauische Band AVaspo am Freitag den 8. Juli 2011 um 19 Uhr in der Ovalhalle (MuseumsQuartier) auf. Das Kollektiv verbindet poetische Lyrics der Sängerin Gabriele Labanauskaite mit elektronischer, experimentell-akustischer Musik, Performance und Videokunst. Das Konzert ist ein Teil der Eröffnung des Sommerkinos frame[o]ut. Am Dienstag den 12. Juli um 21 Uhr findet ein weiteres Konzert in dem legendären Studenten-Zentrum Zagreb statt. Für beide Konzerte gilt freier Eintritt. Förderer der Tour in Österreich und Kroatien: Kulturförderungsfonds der Republik Litauen. At „AVaspo“ (Audiovisual Asp of Poetry) concert in Vienna and Zagreb you will hear the poetry texts mixed with the music, which variety scale starts from avant pop and continues to expressionitic japanese psychodelic rock and unpredictable sounds. Impressive visuals are creating atmosphere and giving the key for different performance interpretation. Taking away acoustic drums and leaving only electronic drums, recent sound comparing with the second AVaspo cd „Niagara“ is more gentle and softer in its appearance.
Texts of „AVaspo“ founder and poet Gabriele Labanauskaite are analyzing private and global misunderstanding, love and tolerance, war and peace, visual culture and mass media brain washing topics. Lithuanian texts will be subtitled in English on the screen in order everyone could understand it. But even without understanding the words, it is always a possibility to flow in strong stream of music, visuals and sometimes melancholic, sometimes wild voice combination.
