On the margins of the ASEM Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Myanmar on 20 November, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Darius Skusevičius met with Japan’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs Kazuyuki Nakane and discussed bilateral cooperation, regional security and prospects for multilateral cooperation. Japan was invited to contribute to the development of a European plan for Ukraine that would aim at building the country’s capacity for investment management.

Lithuania’s Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of expanding political dialogue, intensifying relations in the fields of science and innovation, and invited the Foreign Minister Balakrishnan to visit Lithuania. Linkevičius also called for the appointment of Singapore’s Honorary Consul in Lithuania.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius and members of the delegation accompanying him met with representatives of the National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technology University that score particularly highly in world rankings, as well as with representatives from Singapore’s lead Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR).

On 3 November, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Macedonia Nikola Dimitrov, who is visiting Lithuania. The two Foreign Ministers discussed the possibility of strengthening bilateral cooperation, Macedonia’s aspirations to EU and NATO membership, the situation in the Western Balkans, issues related to regional security and cooperation.

The Vice-Minister welcomed the recent appointment of the Honorary Consul of Lithuania in Iran and discussed the envisioned signature of bilateral agreements.
